Before Christmas...

I'll be posting a few photos of our holiday happenings in the next few days. Here, we have some fun moments up through Christmas Eve...

The main course (a potato and caramelized onion galette, made with my first true pastry crust, which turned out perfectly flaky, if I may say...it was sooooo good!)

Uncle Brian and Aunt Diana shared the night with us...

...and came with presents!! Just after this photo was taken, Evan was feeling the package when it suddenly started honking. The look of surprise on his face was classic!!

December...

It has been a busy month...Whew!!! While I've let my blogging slip, I haven't forgotten to take a few photos. I'll start by posting pictures of my friend Sara's visit to SF. It's impossible to count how many years I've known Sara, and it was so meaningful to have her visit and finally meet Evan. Thank you so much for coming, Sara!!!!

For some reason, the website isn't letting me cut and paste the photos, so you get to see the trip backwards...

This is Evan's only Santa photo, taken at the Oakland Zoo. I couldn't get any closer than this to Santa without Evan screaming...

We took a boat ride under the Golden Gate...

...and it was fantastic!

The big tree at Pier 39. Evan loved all the Christmas balls.

And we saw even bigger trees at Muir woods!

...just about to walk the bridge.

My new craft...

When we lived in France I spent hours feasting my eyes on the ancient Roman mosaics found in and around Lyon. I promised myself that I would learn something about the craft, and I am proud to announce that I've finished an introductory class. Here is my first creation, a table top that I'm going to hang on the wall instead:

I chose this design because Evan loves the moon and the stars, and he points them out to me several times a day!
